Polyamide 6 (PA6) is the crystallizing polymer relating to group of linear polyamides along with polyamide - 66 (PA6.6), polyamide - 11, polyamide - 12, polyamide - 610 (PA6.10) and others. Material has gained wide fame in connection with application in the textile industry for production of threads, fibers, cord fabric. This application has given to polyamide - 6 trademark nylon 6. Use of polyamide - 6 as constructional thermoplastic material is connected, both with its basic properties, and with possibility of broad modification of material. Constructional polyamide - 6 is one of the most widely applied engineering materials in such areas as automotive industry, mechanical engineering, electrical equipment and electronics, the furniture industry, household appliances, construction, sports and tourist equipment, packaging. It is caused by the following factors. Mechanical characteristics: material combines high shock resistance with rigidity and resistance to creep. Chemical and climatic resistance: polyamide 6 is steady against automobile fuel, greasings, hydrocarbons, oil products. Material is rather hygroscopic that increases elasticity (shock resistance) of material under operating conditions. Operation temperature: temperature of melting of unfilled brands - 215 - 219 ^°C. The Termoformoustoychivost - high, operation temperature - to 140 ^°C, about 200 ^°C are temporary. Electric insulation properties: electric strength - 20 - 45 kV/mm; ud. volume resistance - ^{1010 - 1016}Om * sm.

Processing
PA - 6 is processed on universal automatic molding machines.
At moisture content of material above, than 0,2% , are required
preliminary drying of material before processing at temperature of 85
about With within 4 hours.
